MASS were in Cardiff!

When the 19th of September rolled around and our tour bus pitched up in beautiful Wales, as exciting as that was, it was a sad sign that the MASS Roadshows were coming to an end for 2018. It’s certainly has been emotional, and we were determined to make the final rollercoaster ride a big success! (To read about our previous Roadshow locations- Dublin, Newcastle and Glasgow, have a look at the blogs on our website).

Cardiff was proclaimed the nation’s capital in 1955. The revitalised waterfront at Cardiff Bay includes the Wales Millennium Centre, home of the national opera, orchestra, theatre and dance companies, plus shops at Mermaid Quay. Architect Richard Rogers’ strikingly modern Senedd building houses the Welsh National Assembly- which is where we laid down our roots for the day, in the stylish and modern Novotel hotel located between Cardiff city centre and Cardiff Bay.

The hotel put on a lavish spread for breakfast, lunch and for the timely tea breaks, which nestled nicely between presentations and questions.

We kicked off with a prompt 10:00 am start, beginning with morning coffee and introductions,  providing our audience with the essential brief history of MASS and ARCHIBUS, before moving on to discovering the delegates’ objectives; what they were really hoping to get out of the day. This is always a helpful section, as it sets the scene and helps us to deliver effectively on delegates’ expectations.

We were very pleased to see a strong turnout and the attendance of a very receptive and interactive bunch, all of whom had key responsibilities; attendees came from a wide array of sectors, extending from private companies to councils and the education sector.

Delegates were keen to get an overview of the ARCHIBUS solution and to get an understanding of its capabilities. There was an emphasis on how it could benefit their own organisations, and in turn, make their job roles more manageable.

In the hot seat, taking turns to present were: Paul Munro (Sales Manager), and me, Ravi Girn, (Sales Account Manager).  Alongside us, providing direction and practical support were Eve Feeney (Marketing and Events Manager) and Luke Bolt (Managing Director).

12:30 pm marked a suitable point to break for lunch, once again with a rather impressive selection of light hot and cold bites, sandwiches, sweet treats and much more. In case nobody had noticed, we love to talk about lunch in our blogs! Lunch also gave the attendees the opportunity to interact with us, and with each other (meeting other users is a rare opportunity and a great reason to attend in itself!), and- of course- to ask any questions

Onto the second and final leg of the this section, MASS presented practical examples illustrating specifically how our award-winning clients have been using the ARCHIBUS solution over the years. This was an opportunity to go into better detail and depth about the way ARCHIBUS works to clients’ benefit. As we understand our delegates’ lives are busy, the event came to a close around 2 pm. No bad thing for we staff from MASS, as we got the opportunity to enjoy a scenic drive home back over the Severn Bridge while there was still daylight.

And there concluded our recent national run of MASS Roadshows! Reflecting on the events as a whole, Luke drew this conclusion: "I think the roadshows have been a real success. Hard graft at times and certainly a learning curve, but we’ve popped out the other side with some strong prospects for the future."

Over the course of our Roadshow experience in 2018, MASS met 17 new organisations, visited 4 new locations and met 26 new people. I'd call that a success, wouldn't you? The end of this venture means the Events and Sales Team now come together to establish the best way forward for future events to be held in 2019. We hope to visit many more places and of course, meet many new organisations. Keep an eye out for future events, as we would love to see you amongst our attendees.

Over and out...
